The Kansas Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) is holding its 3rd Snow Roadeo Competition and Training event on Thursday, August 10th. The objective of the Roadeo is to provide training for the Kansas Community Public Works crews and individuals in preparation for the snow season. It also promotes communication, cooperation, and friendly competition between communities throughout Kansas.
This year’s event will be held in Junction City, Kansas at Milford Lake State Park. The Roadeo will include competition in the motor grader, front loader, truck with snowplow and each event will include both a diagnostic test and a test of skill on a driving course. The truck with snowplow will be a 2-man team effort. Individual trophies will be awarded to the top three individual event winners.
Registration fees are $45.00 per participant, lunch will be provided (see enclosed form). Arrival and registration begins at 8:00 AM. The Roadeo is expected to conclude with an awards ceremony at 4:00 PM, but time may vary depending on the number of entries. Equipment will be provided for the competitors.
Overnight accommodations, if needed, will be the responsibility of the entrants.
